There are so many beautiful places to choose from right in our own backyard in the Lower Mainland. If you are more uptown and dressy, how about Coal Harbour or Gastown? If you are outdoorsy and casual… maybe Lynn Valley or Pitt Lake would work for you. Of course the popular standards are always great, Queen Elizabeth, Deer Lake or Stanley Park have so many different locations to choose from. Maybe one of our many beautiful beaches on a warm sunlit evening would be a good choice or the colourful extravaganza that is Granville Island.

I can’t think of a better way to feature some great locations and help couples to decide than with pictures! All in all this is a fun shoot where we get to know each other a little better and helps the couple get used to being photographed, oh and for the guys… kissing will be involved

After our unseasonably warm spring, the weather has taken a turn as of late. No worries for this lovely couple, a dip in the Hot Springs after a night of dancing and celebrating will be just what the doctor ordered! Looking forward to capturing your memories for you both!

Whatever the weather holds for their big day, Raymond and Mary will take it in stride just as they did when we met them on a drizzly March morning before their tea ceremony. Here are a few of my favorite photos from a short time we spent outside in a park near their home. These two are naturals!

We couldn’t be happier that Michelle chose us as well. We look forward to revisiting Deer Lake Park as Michael and Michelle loved the gardens so much they decided that it would be the perfect place for their wedding photos as well.  It is also one of our favorite locations and we can’t wait to see what the gardens have in store for this weekend.

I met Brian at BC Helicopters in Abbotsford to start the journey, unfortunately our run of good weather had ended, but that did nothing to dampen Brian’s spirits. We got in the helicopter and flew up to the hot springs on the Pitt River. The helicopter dropped us off and went to retrieve Tina from down town Vancouver. There were a number of people in on the secret and Brian arranged for a co-worker of Tina’s to take her from the conference to the helipad in Vancouver.

Meanwhile Brian and I hunkered down in the rain and waited for Sancho, our pilot, to return with Tina. The plan was to capture the proposal, take a some photos of the two of them and then the couple would spend some time in the hot springs.

Brian was excited and a bit nervous but we kept ourselves busy planning the best angles and taking a few photos in the rain. We had taken a quick trip to the hot springs to check out the trail, the terrain was challenging but beautiful!

In the distance we could hear the bup, bup, bup of the chopper arriving so Brian got into position. The ruse to get Tina there worked, she was truly surprised to see Brian standing on the bridge… ring in his pocket, heart in his hand.

I had gotten to know Brian a little bit as we waited in the forest for Tina to arrive, and he really is a nice guy. I hoped that Tina would be a sweetheart too, as I had yet to meet her. As I captured the amazingly romantic proposal, I was thrilled to see that Tina is the loveliest girl. They truly are the one of the sweetest couples I have had the pleasure to work with!

Brian and Tina, I wish you the best in your life together and thank you for an adventure that I will remember for a long, long time!

But first, their engagement shoot… it was an afternoon in January if you can believe it! David & Michelle are avid rock climbers and chose to have a rock climbing inspired shoot at Lighthouse Park. The plan was to repel down the rock (not sure where I was going to shoot from) but all of the hooks were occupied so we just spent our time together exploring around and finding the light (whew).
