Tom & Jennifer… winter wedding

We met Jennifer and Tom last summer and as she sipped at her cold drink, she shivered inside her jacket. She was a tiny little thing that honestly did not look well. Only when I asked if they were going anywhere warm for their honeymoon she told me that they had to stay local because she was on a list for a kidney transplant. She seemed to not want to make a big deal of it and preferred to happily chat about her dream wedding day. Set for February, Jennifer wanted a winter wedding and hoped for snow.
When we met last October for their engagement shoot we found out that Jennifer had received her transplant a few months earlier. She looked so much better, although still a little weak and puffy from her medications she had gained some needed weight and her skin and eyes had a wonderful sparkle.
Tom and Jennifer had their winter wedding in February and although the snow was more or less rain, her spirits remained bright. This girl has amazing energy and never once complained about the cold during the day. The wedding took place in the adorable Minoru Chapel, after which we headed to the Oval for photos and to take cover from the rain. The reception was a lively dance filled night at the Firefighters Public House in Burnaby.
Maybe it was changing location from Richmond to Burnaby, or maybe an angel smiled on Jennifer… but in the end she got her wish for snow!
