Michael & Karen’s winter wedding in January at Westwood Plateau Golf and Country Club was nothing short of amazing! Having worked with Michael & Karen on two previous shoots, Peter and I knew it would be like spending the day with friends.
We had shot their proposal on Deer Lake in the summer; http://blog.marlajenkinsphotography.com/2014/10/deer-lake-proposal-michael-karen/
And their engagement shoot in Gastown during the late fall; http://blog.marlajenkinsphotography.com/2015/01/mike-karen-city-at-night-engagement-shoot/
Their first two shoots turned out fantastically! The proposal was on a beautiful, foggy, Sunday morning and a few months later their evening engagement shoot was, although frosty in late fall, a great success as well.
The January 10th wedding looked like it was to be a bit soggy, but no matter, the Michael & Karen were in great spirits as they got ready at Karen’s parents gorgeous home (in separate rooms). They then had their ‘first look’ in the grand front entrance of the home.
We shot at Deer Lake again, as the family home is just a short walk away. The rain held off and the overcast sky gave us the most incredible, soft light for the wedding party photos. Karen looked stunning in her cathedral length veil and Michael looked very handsome as well!
On to the ceremony at Eagleridge Bible Fellowship in Coquitlam. Once the ‘I do’s’ were spoken and first kiss as man and wife was but a memory, everyone headed up the mountain to the reception at Westwood Plateau. Before the celebrations got started we were lucky enough to get more epic fog photos . There is something about a winter wedding, I think I like 🙂
All the best in your future together Michael & Karen… it certainly looks bright!
