Mike and Kristy were married on a beautiful, puffy white cloud day early in May. They both are avid outdoors people and couldn’t have chosen a more suitable place to wed than the rustic and naturally stunning Whonnock Lake Centre.

We started the day with Kristy and her best friends at the Hairformers Salon for a little pampering for the big day. Afterwards, I captured Kristy getting ready at her townhouse while Peter headed over to Whonnock early to catch up with the guys. The ceremony was covered by a lovely canopy and even though we were lucky enough to not need it for rain, it helped to diffuse the bright sunshine over the proceedings.

After the ceremony we headed to the lake area where Mike and Kristy had a police pick up truck and a vintage fire truck for photos as they are both members of courageous professions. A friend of the bride and groom captured the best shot ever of Peter and I working together, it truly shows the support I always get from him!

The day couldn’t have gone smoother, we even had the couple’s dogs, Stella & Whiskey brought in for a few photos on the dock… I think they really wanted to go for a swim or play fetch but were very good sports about posing (for a few seconds 🙂 )!

Poignant moments, great food, fun dancing… the reception was a blast and we could not have felt more comfortable with this crowd. They truly opened their arms to us and made us feel like family.
